Children have opportunities for musical expression through activities that combine the following: singing, movement, playing instruments such as small percussion, recorder and keyboard. Students perform songs that cover a wide range of musical styles from folk to show and Disney tunes and current popular. The course finishes on a high note with a recital to showcase and reflect the summer’s work and experiences. Children have opportunities to express themselves musically through instruments such as guitar, keyboard and percussion and through singing. Students perform a variety of musical styles from folk and show tunes (Wicked, Glee, High School Musical, Disney) to current popular styles. Student composition will be explored and a short musical revue may be part of the program as well. The course finishes on a high note with a recital to showcase the summer’s work and experiences. July 5th through August 2nd - 11th: Monday and Wednesday: Thirty minute sessions available 11:00am-4:00pm; evenings by appointment. Cost: $25 per lesson Instruction will focus on developing vocal executive skills such as breathing, tone production and range flexibility as well as aural skills training. Repertoire ranges from show to classical. Poise and interpretation will also be areas of focus and opportunities for performing a recital are optional.
